Book review

“A devoted concubine is more precious than diamonds.”

Jenny has sinned against her love.

She has sinned against her husband.

She has betrayed all she once held dear.

She did it because she had to survive.

Now the Sultan has discovered she has betrayed him too.

He understands she did it because she was brainwashed by the shaman. She lost control and allowed the vile Sheikh to witness her passions which only her master was entitled to see. When the royal council informs him that she is to be punished, the Sultan is heartbroken. Yet, if he fails to publicly avenge his honor, chastise the girl, and set an example of his resolve to his people, his authority will erode and his days in power will be numbered.

When Jenny learns that she is to be publicly whipped and humiliated in the city square before the cameras of the world news organizations, it is almost too much to bear. The shame of allowing the world to see her lustful subjugation is compounded by the risk that her family back home in the US might also witness the passions her body brings her.
Jenny has no choice but to follow her master’s lead. She is the Sultan’s concubine and has to trust in his love for her. She has to surrender to her fate even if that means undergoing the most transformative experience of her life yet.
